About The Position

Provides clerical and technical support for the Imaging Services department at Memorial Healthcare System. The role involves managing patient radiology-related imaging and Protected Health Information (PHI), preparing and distributing patient records, managing electronic imaging exams for timely interpretation, and performing audits for exams pending final interpretation or incorrectly stored electronic files. Daily inspections of radiologist reading workstations are also part of the duties, with findings escalated to Radiology IT services. Additionally, the position requires transporting patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or neuro chair to designated sites, and communicating findings of imaging exams to caregivers, including verifying the transmission of critical findings. Creating electronic files for release of information to authorized individuals, including legal requests, is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients, verifies prescriptions with providers, and schedules patients as needed.
  • Answers department and reading room phones, directing callers and providing follow-up as needed.
  • Manages and distributes patient radiology-related imaging and PHI.
  • Prepares and distributes patient records, including original film, digital images burned to CD or DVD, and electronic receiving and release of images.
  • Manages electronic Imaging exams for timely interpretation and oversees the interpretation workflow for Interpreting physicians.
  • Performs audits for any exams pending final interpretation/results, or any electronic files incorrectly stored.
  • Performs daily inspections on radiologist reading workstations and escalates any findings with Radiology IT services for resolution.
  • Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or neuro chair to designated sites, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.
  • Communicates findings of Imaging exams to various caregivers, including verifying the transmission of critical findings.
  • Creates electronic files for release of information to authorized individuals, including legal requests received via subpoena, using properly executed forms.
