About The Position
This role is responsible for explaining procedures to patients to ensure understanding and providing appropriate educational material. The Imaging Service Assistant will also transport patients to and from clinical areas, verify patient identity according to policies and procedures, and assist technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure. Additionally, the assistant will help technologists with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- BLS Provider Preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Responsibilities
- Explain procedures to patient to ensure understanding.
- Provide appropriate educational material.
- Transport patients to and from clinical areas and verify patient identity according to policies and procedures.
- Assist technologists with preparing patient for radiology exam by positioning the patient for the procedure.
- Assist technologists with picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic medical records (EMR) documentation on an as needed basis.
