The Imaging Scheduler is responsible for accurately collecting and analyzing all required demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data necessary to schedule patients for outpatient interventional and diagnostic procedures. This role involves maintaining the integrity of the electronic scheduling system, identifying the correct resources for clinical questions, and maintaining orders received through the ActiveFax system. The scheduler will also answer incoming telephone calls according to established departmental procedures, accurately create appointments in the computerized scheduling system, and review appropriate preparation instructions with patients. Additionally, the role supports departmental operations through participation in training, team building, and assisting with new employee training and flexible work scheduling needs. This position also performs secretarial and minor administrative services, including composing correspondence, scheduling meetings, processing mail, organizing special events, entering data, and typing various documents. Maintenance of department files is also a key responsibility.
