Assists patients in preparation for exams, provides basic instructions for routine procedures, and transports patients between exam rooms and departments. Escorts patients, families, and visitors as needed. Utilizes radiology computer systems for requisitions, scheduling, and patient information. Organizes and prepares exam rooms, including cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Greets patients and visitors, responding to routine requests. Answers telephones, screens calls, schedules appointments, and takes messages. Acts as a liaison between physicians, radiologists, and technologists. Provides radiology reports and images upon request. Files, retrieves, and releases health information records and films. Compiles film jackets/discs and completes required forms. Documents information and communicates patient observations to the healthcare team. Performs routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment. Assists with screening and documentation of MRI implants. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, including understanding growth and development across the lifespan and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
