The Imaging Patient Assistant is responsible for transporting patients between departments, escorting patients, families, and visitors, and utilizing radiology computer systems for various tasks. This role involves assisting patients with exam preparation, transferring them to and from exam rooms, and providing basic instructions regarding procedures. The assistant also manages the organization and preparation of exam rooms, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining equipment. Additionally, they handle patient and visitor greetings, answer telephones, schedule appointments, and act as a liaison between physicians and technologists. Responsibilities extend to providing radiology reports and images, managing health information records, and completing necessary documentation. The role requires maintaining imaging equipment, assisting with MRI implant screening, and demonstrating knowledge of age-appropriate patient care. This position requires the ability to assess and interpret patient data based on age-specific needs and follow departmental policies and procedures.
