About The Position

The Imaging Manager coordinates and manages the daily operation of the department for the purpose of ensuring effective, efficient, and appropriate deliver of patient care. Monitors departmental activities, policies and accreditation standards to ensure compliance. The Imaging Manager reports to the Radiology Director. The Radiology Director will set and manage performance standards. The Imaging Manager will have autonomy to make departmental, clinical and technical decisions, to be the patient's advocate, to better comply with regulations and accrediting organizations. The Manager also plans and manages the daily operations of the department for the purpose of ensuring effective, efficient, and appropriate delivery of patient care; Provides performance management to subordinates, and resolves patient and physician issues for improved customer service and Assists the Health System in meeting its goal in the healing ministry, by collaborating with others to promote high standards of care with integrity and respect for each individual.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • 3 years related progressive experience in a hospital setting with at least 1 year of related supervisory experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications, hearing, speaking, and good writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Directs operations of assigned modalities or departments.
  • Oversee the human resources, quality control maintenance and all clinical activities of assigned areas.
  • Responsible for preparation and monitoring of assigned modalities annual operating budget, capital asset needs and utilization of operational resources.
  • Continuously monitors overall utilization of resources and directs corrective action related to fiscal management.
  • Mentors supervisors and staff using effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Manages staff training/orientation, development and, coordinates monthly staff meetings.
  • Assure services and staff are in compliance with hospital and professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors quality and accuracy of work performed by staff.
  • Identify, investigate, and follow up on complaints within a timely manner.
  • Serves on interdepartmental committees as requested to improve processes, quality and safety.
  • Assist with operations in areas of customer service, planning, safety, polices, and procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison and department representative to physician offices and other departments, demonstrates skills in interpersonal relations, delegation and planning.
  • Fosters an environment within department and hospital that encourages interdepartmental collaboration and customer focus.
