About The Position

Performs medical office functions and supports the objectives and philosophy of White-Wilson Medical Center. This role involves a variety of administrative tasks within an imaging department, including patient interaction, information management, scheduling, and financial processing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency.
  • Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computers and telephones.
  • Ability to work alone when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical office setting.
  • Familiarity with EMR and PACS systems.
  • Experience with imaging CDs and DVDs creation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and check in patients for appointments.
  • Verify and update patient information in EMR and PACS.
  • Answer telephones, schedule and coordinate appointments, and forward messages to appropriate staff members.
  • Provide pertinent information (exam prep) per doctor’s instructions or established clinic guidelines.
  • Check on lab orders for contrast studies.
  • Contact patients to remind them of the next day appointments.
  • Collect co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, self-pay charges, and open balances.
  • Reconcile charges and payments at close of day.
  • Initiate release forms for Imaging.
  • Create imaging CDs and DVDs using the imaging robot and computer mounted CD/DVD burners.
  • Upload and download required documents in the patient’s EMR.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Sort, distribute, send, and receive mail and faxes.
  • Consistently display a positive attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
  • Attend department meetings and clinic required meetings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Able to complete all tasks individually and work alone when required.
  • Learn and execute Film Librarian tasks.
  • Maintain HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform any additional related duties as required.
  • Ensure regular and reliable attendance.
