About The Position

The Imaging Assistant III supports imaging procedures by preparing and transporting patients, assisting with positioning and contrast administration, monitoring patients, and communicating with remote technologists. The role requires recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation, as well as BLS certification. Candidates must meet one of the listed education and credential pathways: paramedic, LPN, or second-year radiologic technology student.

Requirements

Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation.
BLS certification.
For the paramedic pathway: high school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited paramedic program; paramedic certification required.
For the LPN pathway: high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited LPN program; LPN license required.
For the second-year radiologic technology pathway: high school diploma or GED; second-year Rad Tech status required.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN is preferred.

Responsibilities

Transport patients.
Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
Complete and document pre-procedure screening, such as contrast consent.
Educate patients about procedures and address their questions.
Communicate patient readiness to the remote technologist.
Monitor telemetry patients during exams.
Position patients correctly on the scanner table and prepare positioning aids.
Load the contrast injector.
Place and manage IV lines.
Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision.
Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate an emergency response if needed.
Initiate BLS protocols when required.
Escalate emergencies to on-site technologists, a physician, or EMS according to facility protocol.
Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during scans.
Complete exam data entry.
