Requirements

High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program. Required
High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program. Required
High school diploma or GED Required
Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation Required
Paramedic Certification Required
LPN license Required
2nd year Rad Tech Required
BLS certification Required

Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN Preferred

Responsibilities

Managing patient flow
Conducting patient screening
Assisting patients during procedures
Maintaining supplies
Supporting technologists as needed
Remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units
Transports Patient
Verify patient identity using two identifiers
Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent)
Educate patients about the procedure and address questions
Communicate readiness to remote technologist
Monitor telemetry patients during exam
Position the patient correctly on the scanner table
Prepare positioning aids
Loads contrast injector
Place and manage IV lines
Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision
Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response if needed
Initiate BLS protocols if required
Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol
Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan
Complete Exam Data Entry
