Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program. Required
  • High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program. Required
  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation Required
  • Paramedic Certification Required
  • LPN license Required
  • 2nd year Rad Tech Required
  • BLS certification Required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Managing patient flow
  • Conducting patient screening
  • Assisting patients during procedures
  • Maintaining supplies
  • Supporting technologists as needed
  • Remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units
  • Transports Patient
  • Verify patient identity using two identifiers
  • Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent)
  • Educate patients about the procedure and address questions
  • Communicate readiness to remote technologist
  • Monitor telemetry patients during exam
  • Position the patient correctly on the scanner table
  • Prepare positioning aids
  • Loads contrast injector
  • Place and manage IV lines
  • Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision
  • Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response if needed
  • Initiate BLS protocols if required
  • Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol
  • Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan
  • Complete Exam Data Entry
