Requirements

  • Paramedic - High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program. Required
  • LPN – High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program. Required
  • 2nd Year Rad Tech – High school diploma or GED Required
  • Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation Required
  • Paramedic Certification Required
  • LPN license Required
  • 2nd year Rad Tech Required
  • BLS certification Required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides advanced technical, clinical and clerical support within the Imaging department.
  • Manages patient flow.
  • Conducts patient screening.
  • Assists patients during procedures.
  • Maintains supplies.
  • Supports technologists as needed.
  • Performs remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units.
  • Transports patients.
  • Verifies patient identity using two identifiers.
  • Completes and documents pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent).
  • Educates patients about the procedure and addresses questions.
  • Communicates readiness to remote technologist.
  • Monitors telemetry patients during exam.
  • Positions the patient correctly on the scanner table.
  • Prepares positioning aids.
  • Loads contrast injector.
  • Places and manages IV lines.
  • Administers contrast or medications under direct supervision.
  • Monitors for adverse reactions and initiates emergency response if needed.
  • Initiates BLS protocols if required.
  • Escalates to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol.
  • Maintains continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan.
  • Completes Exam Data Entry.
