About The Position

The Imaging Applications Specialist demonstrates a clinical background with a special interest and expertise in the use of Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) equipment, and other applications and technology that enhances the clinical practice in imaging. Acts as a liaison between assigned departments, providers and Information Technology (IT) staff in order to facilitate optimal use of applications. Coordinates and facilitates communication with areas that interface with imaging services. Resides within the imaging department in order to assist with day-to-day operations. Provides technical support and answer any questions to help resolve any issues with the imaging applications in person, via telephone or electronically. Responsible to assist assigned departments, geographical areas or specific functions with utilization of Sanford's imaging applications and associated clinical technologies. Oversees the validation of imaging examinations and ensures tasks are completed on time. Monitors and provides quality assurance of internal and external image management processes. Key areas of accountability may include individual and classroom training, onsite and remote end-user support, development of supporting clinical workflows, investigation and resolution of application and workflow issues, and participation in committees that promote both the standardization and optimization. May require some on-call rotation for end-user support.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting Radiologist workstations and clinical imaging environments.
  • In-depth understanding of PACS/RIS systems and radiology workflows.
  • Highly customer-focused with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to clinical staff.
  • Proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-care–driven environment.
  • Flexible and dependable, with willingness to travel regionally and provide occasional after-hours remote support.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Possesses organizational skills and the ability to handle a larger number of projects simultaneously and meet required deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, with physicians, vendors and the general public.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Minimum two years’ experience preferred.
  • Strong background in a healthcare imaging profession preferred.
  • Licensed/registered in a clinical field preferred.
  • Maintain any certification/licensure as required by profession.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related healthcare or information systems discipline preferred.
  • Prefer certification in radiology/cardiology disciplines/American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
