About The Position
The Imaging Aide, under general supervision supports the imaging department by assisting technologists with daily basic tasks and transporting patients to/from the hospital departments and the Radiology department, Patient Care Pavillion (PCP), operating room (OR), Pre-op, and Radiation Oncology. In addition, they also ensure safe patient handling, correct patient identification, and accuracy in receiving and documenting relevant patient information.
Requirements
- Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card, required.
- One year hospital transport experience preferred
- Medical terminology experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate information to staff and patients by delivering quality customer service through both verbal and written communication.
- Effectively apply organizational skills to ensure patients and staff are well informed and also demonstrating proper etiquette in telephone, verbal/non-verbal, fax and email communications.
- Ability to effectively valuate the demands of physicians, staff and superiors, responding timely and appropriately.
- Communicate information concerning patients’ pertinent clinical information, assuring effective communication exchanges between transporter staff and other staff members.
- Participates in department specific meetings, trainings, emails, and in-services
- Follow company policies, procedures and directives.
- Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
