About The Position

This role involves providing advanced imagery analysis services within the Intelligence Community. The analyst will research various systems and databases to amplify information, produce standard and formalized imagery analysis products, and collaborate with other analysts. Key responsibilities include locating, identifying, characterizing, and monitoring strategic, operational, and tactical facilities using a variety of platforms. The position supports the creation of GEOINT media and collateral imagery products, identifies technology gaps, and aids in integrating new imagery-related technologies into the operational environment. A multi-INT approach is required for analyzing areas of interest to support various intelligence disciplines such as Counterproliferation, Counterterrorism, Current Operations, Counterintelligence, Anticipatory Intelligence, and Strategic Intelligence. The role also includes performing quality control on analytical products, collaborating on leading-edge technologies, and providing expert advice on imagery information matters. Senior Imagery Analysts will serve as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), producing intelligence on mission-specific issues through summary reports, detailed graphics, database remarks, ad-hoc reports, and daily briefings. Proficiency with various IC databases, including NES and Intelink, is essential. The analyst will incorporate the full spectrum of GEOINT, including NTM, manned and unmanned air breathers, and civil/commercial sensors, utilizing both manual and electronic light tables as needed. Specific deliverables include standard intelligence reports (e.g., NIBs, GN’s) and standard, non-coordinated products like NES baseline reports or ad-hoc requests. Reporting will adhere to NSG Directive 2-1 Exploitation and Reporting Structure (EARS-2) guidance and SOM-associated data. The role requires reading, extracting, and plotting coordinates, creating metadata for OBP initiatives, and performing analysis on orders of battle and battle damage assessment.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Imagery analysis experience in the Intelligence Community at the national level.
  • Ability to harness all geospatial tools and techniques with available data to provide relevant and insightful intelligence.
  • Imagery Training, either “A” or “C” school
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS 9.x and its component extensions, along with the ability to create tailored scripts; working knowledge of ArcIMS and HTML editing; strong data mining and management skills
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcView, ArcIMS, ArcTools, the Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) system, SocetSet, TerraExplorer/Builder, RemoteView, ERDAS IMAGINE, MRSID, VB/VBA (or some other object-oriented programming/scripting language), Oracle and other appropriate software to analyze geospatial data.
  • Proficiency in using MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Familiarity with electronic publishing and structured authoring software (SGML, HTML, or XML languages).
  • Familiarity with the following data formats: (e.g., DTED, VPF, CIB, ADRG); imagery and geospatial products, data attribution techniques,
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with the following applications: Web publishing, and Web hosting technologies, along with Geospatial Database generation/maintenance applications and python scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of soft copy exploitation functionalities.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph

Responsibilities

  • Provide services researching the NES, its follow-on, SOM or SOM-like applications that support OBP and its related databases, automated message-handling systems, and other appropriate databases for amplifying information.
  • Produce standard and formalized imagery analysis products.
  • Collaborate with other IC analysts during the collection, research, analysis, and product generation processes.
  • Provide imagery analysis against targets utilizing a variety of platforms, including locating, identifying, characterizing, and monitoring strategic operational and tactical facilities.
  • Support the creation of a variety of GEOINT media and collateral imagery products such as data sets, ground truth, and briefing materials supporting various geospatial research projects.
  • Support the identification of technology gaps in capabilities and processes and support the insertion of new imagery related technology into the operational environment.
  • Use a multi-INT approach in every aspect of their analytical duties to analyze AOIs to support Counterproliferation, Counterterrorism, Current Operations, Counterintelligence support Anticipatory Intelligence and Strategic Intelligence.
  • Perform quality control on analytical products.
  • Provide collaboration with the workforce on leading edge imagery analysis technologies.
  • Provide expert advice on technical matters related to imagery information.
  • Serve as SME Imagery Analysts, producing intelligence on mission-specific issues.
  • Produce summary-type reports, detailed mission graphics, database remarks, ad-hoc reports, and daily briefings.
  • Utilize various IC databases at an intermediate to expert level of mastery.
  • Use a variety of imagery analysis formats and databases to accomplish its mission.
  • Incorporate the full spectrum of GEOINT to include: NTM, manned and unmanned air breather, and civil/commercial sensors providing hardcopy and softcopy imagery exploitation.
  • Utilize manual light tables and electronic light tables as required.
  • Provide imagery analysis services in the form of datasets and visualization products that typically result in the authorship of 6-9 standard, coordinate intelligence reports per year, including but not limited to reports such as NIBs and GN’s.
  • Create at least 20-25 standard, non-coordinated products per year, predominantly NES baseline reports or ad-hoc requests for information.
  • Publish NES remarks, baseline descriptions, and other imagery exploitation reporting in accordance with the NSG Directive 2-1 Exploitation and Reporting Structure (EARS-2) reporting guidance and/or SOM-associated data as necessitated by the assigned office’s requirements.
  • Support the GEOINT Program of Analysis or other mechanisms that guide analytic efforts.
  • Read, extract and plot coordinates using multiple maps and chart scales, projects, and datums.
  • Provide and create metadata to support structured observations in support of the ODNI’s OBP initiatives.
  • Provide imagery analysis services on orders of battle, battle damage assessment, and other core skill sets as dictated by the government.
