About The Position

Springboard's Community Learning HUB (HUB) is seeking an entry-level Illustrator and Graphic Designer to join their team. This role will be based within the HUB, Springboard’s digital learning platform launched in 2009, which promotes health and inclusion for youth and young adults. The HUB supports over 250 schools, social service organizations, and Springboard staff, reaching thousands of participants annually across Canada. The successful applicant will work with a remote creative digital artist team to develop digital illustrations, animations, and prototypes for HUB programs and communications, reporting directly to the HUB Manager. Mentorship and oversight will be provided by the Senior Designer. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about driving change in communities through technology and youth education.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Diploma/Certificates/Degrees in a related field
  • Collaboration: Ability to work well with others and contribute to shared goals, support team members, and participate in group creative projects.
  • Communication: Ability to share ideas clearly and listen to feedback from supervisors and team members, both verbally and through written communication.
  • Creativity & Innovation: Enjoyment in exploring new ideas and approaches to visual storytelling, illustration, and design, and openness to experimenting with different creative styles.
  • Digital Skills: Interest in or familiarity with using digital tools to create, edit, and share visual content (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms).
  • Problem-Solving: Willingness to think creatively to overcome design challenges, respond to feedback, and adjust work to meet project needs.
  • Technical Skills: Developing hands-on skills in illustration and graphic design, including layout, composition, branding basics, and use of design software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in digital design and illustration processes for e-learning module creation
  • Utilization of digital design tools such as photoshop, illustrator and Figma
  • Adapting illustrations and graphics to different artistic styles
  • Understanding and providing accurate design timelines for projects
  • Task management through working on multiple projects at the same time
  • Understanding digital production work flow through working with a diverse team of Designers, Developers, and Curriculum Writers

Responsibilities

  • Support with sketching, drawing and designing art concepts for HUB program content
  • Support with creating wireframes and prototype for HUB program content
  • Support with designing web graphics such as online banners, images, product landing pages and other graphic needs.
