This is an as-needed, part-time position responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Customer Service Center. The role involves triaging home health referrals, assembling referral information in the EMR, processing referrals accurately and efficiently, and screening/troubleshooting calls. The specialist will also manage office supplies, assist with report monitoring, and maintain communication with referral sources and internal teams. A key aspect of the role is maintaining knowledge of insurance plans, verifying reimbursement sources, identifying patient out-of-pocket costs, and determining payer coverage requirements. The position requires coordinating with other staff for transfers of care, following standardized workflows, and utilizing critical thinking skills. Teamwork, adaptability, and cross-training are also important components of this role.
