About The Position

Premier Automation is seeking an Ignition Developer to join our team, where you will design, develop, and deploy Ignition® SCADA/HMI applications that connect directly with PLCs, field devices, and industrial systems. From custom control panels to large-scale SCADA and drive systems, we help customers improve efficiency, reliability, and performance on the plant floor. Our team blends deep technical expertise with a down-to-earth, collaborative culture, offering career growth opportunities, real-world project exposure, and technical challenges that keep you engaged and learning.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience designing, programming, and deploying Ignition® SCADA/HMI applications
  • Background in industrial automation — not software/IT automation
  • Familiarity with integrating Ignition into environments using PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for SCADA/HMI systems and industrial controls
  • Clear communication, collaboration, and organizational skills — able to manage project tasks and customer interactions effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in a computer, electrical, or related technical field (equivalent experience considered); higher-level degrees are a plus
  • Ignition Gold Certification or module-specific expertise (Perspective, Reporting, Scripting)
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python and SQL
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA)
  • Experience in FAT/SAT execution and customer-facing technical discussions

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and deploy Ignition® SCADA/HMI applications for industrial automation projects
  • Build real-time dashboards, reporting tools, and operator interfaces tailored to customer needs
  • Integrate Ignition with PLCs, databases, field devices, and industrial networks
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and expand existing Ignition applications for performance and scalability
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities
  • Collaborate with customers, engineers, and technicians to ensure project requirements are met
  • Document system configurations, provide training, and deliver knowledge transfer to end users

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical coverage with a 100% company-paid deductible
  • Dental and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match and immediate vesting
  • Company-paid life insurance and short-term disability coverage
  • Paid time off package with PTO, 10 company holidays, sick leave, and parental leave for growing families

  • Company-provided tools and boot allowance
