About The Position

Lifesteps is hiring a Training Coordinator to coordinate employee trainings for the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Department. The Training Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that direct care staff are in compliance with regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards. The position identifies staff training needs, assists with creating training ciriculum, recommends training or development plans, and monitors to mitigate any risks. In addition, this role will be the main trainer (presenter / instructor) for required in-person classes at Lifesteps. Supports Coordinators, Program Specialists, and even Behavior Support staff could be a good fit for this mostly administrative role because of prior experience working with people with disabilities and conducting staff training. Prior staff development or staff training experience is a good match also. This full-time position works 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, in the Butler office, with occasional travel to areas within Western PA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and five years of experience in Human Resources, Training and Development, and/or a Management Role OR Associate Degree in HR, Psychology, Special Education, Counseling / Guidance, etc.
  • Strong Presentation Skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong organization with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to Travel within Western PA for business utilizing personal vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Individuals with special needs
  • Knowledge of HR employment laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Learning and Development Certificate
  • Prior Trainer / Presentation experience
