About The Position

MTSI is seeking Instrumentation, Data and Controls (ID&C) Engineers to support the Test Operations and Sustainment contract at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. The ID&C Engineer will work as a member of an integrated team responsible for operating and maintaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and sustainment efforts. This position requires occasional scheduled extended hours and/or weekend work to meet critical contractual requirements and occasional unscheduled night or weekend support in emergency situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5 years’ engineering experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and access to DoD network and access to the AEDC local area network.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract and Air Force security mandates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and lifecycle engineering of advanced Instrumentation, Data, and Controls systems, automated controls, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software.
  • Generate, review, and approve concept layouts, design drawings, and technical data utilizing advanced CAD/CAE tools.
  • Drive active ground test operations, lead ID&C system integration, real-time troubleshooting, and rapid return to service.
  • Develop and execute rigorous verification and validation test plans to ensure robust system reliability and peak performance.
  • Translate high-level operational concepts into definitive system requirements, specifications, and design calculations.
  • Conduct complex engineering studies, evaluate standard methodologies, and establish robust work processes.
  • Manage technical interfaces with subcontractors and equipment manufacturers, performing rigorous reviews of complex design documents and providing authoritative recommendations.
  • Own and drive work schedules to guarantee on-time mission delivery.
  • As appropriate, mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering technical growth and ensuring the quality of team deliverables.
