This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards. The role involves assessing and evaluating patients' physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social, and educational needs, documenting patient/family responses to nursing interventions, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to achieve desired patient care outcomes. The nurse will develop and implement patient care plans, including discharge plans, based on nursing practice standards, health center policies, and patient/family needs, utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills. This includes reviewing and updating care plans based on changes in patient condition, guiding and directing patient care activities using clinical/critical thinking and evidence-based practice, and providing daily direction to Licensed Practical Nurses and Nurse Assistants. The position also involves facilitating learning opportunities for patients/families, effectively communicating patient changes to colleagues and caregivers, and attending departmental/organizational meetings. Additionally, the role requires serving as a steward for hospital resources, meeting productivity expectations, utilizing and maintaining supplies, and supporting staffing needs in multiple units with flexibility in schedule and hours.
