About The Position

Glens Falls Hospital is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ICU is equipped to provide highly skilled interdisciplinary services to patients requiring complex and intensive nursing care interventions for life-threatening conditions. This role offers a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, allowing for close monitoring and effective care planning. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be accountable for the management and delivery of patient care to assigned patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, within the scope of practice defined by the New York State Nurse Practice Act. You will provide direct patient care, delegate responsibilities appropriately, and serve as a leader of the interdisciplinary team under the direction of the attending physician. The patient care team identifies desired outcomes for each patient based on assessment data and the plan of care, completing ongoing assessments to facilitate the achievement of these outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing Program.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintains competency in professional nursing practices
  • Knowledge of standard health care reporting measures required
  • Ability to recognize patient care problems and to react appropriately in patient care emergencies

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred; new hires will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of hire (RNs with 20+ years of experience may be eligible to opt for certification completion rather than BSN).

Responsibilities
