About The Position

The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing high-acuity care to patients with complex medical conditions. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and a willingness to float to different units as needed. The unit has 8A with 12 beds and 8B with 13 beds. Patient ratios are typically 1:2 and occasionally 1:1. Common diagnoses include heart and lung transplants, LVAD patients, and valve surgeries. Monitor techs and respiratory therapists are available 24/7 in the unit. Registered Nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting cardiac strips. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of ICU nursing experience in a busy hospital environment.
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience with CRRT is preferred; training provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity setting.
  • Titrate vasoactive drips for cardiac patients.
  • Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists on patient management.
  • Participate in the orientation of new staff members.
  • Utilize advanced equipment, including CRRT, Impella, IABP, and LVAD devices.
  • Reading and interpreting cardiac strips.
