About The Position
The ICU Float Registered Nurse provides nursing care in intensive care units according to the units’ staffing needs. The role offers exposure to a variety of ICU specialties, including MICU, SICU, Respiratory Special Care, and Surgical Progressive Care. The nurse demonstrates strong critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills and maintains current knowledge of critical care. This 13-week assignment is scheduled for 36 hours per week, with three 12-hour shifts. The schedule includes rotating day, evening, and night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays, with on-call, callback, and charge responsibilities as needed by the unit. First-time travelers are not accepted.
Requirements
- Current RN license for New York State only.
- Acute-care ICU nursing experience.
- Two years of experience.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association only.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association only.
- NIHSS certification.
- First-time travelers are not accepted.
Responsibilities
