About The Position

We are seeking an ICU/CCU Clinical Supervisor, also referred to as an RN Supervisor. The Clinical Supervisor collaborates with the unit Director or Manager to support and oversee departmental operations, including staff supervision, training, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, communication, and ensuring quality patient care and efficient function, while assuming administrative responsibilities in their absence. The ER RN Supervisor will supervise and support nursing staff, coordinate patient care with the healthcare team and manage critical incidents.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC required 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 & 2 within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
  • In Paramedic Base Station ED, MICN, within 12 months of hire.
  • EDAP Certified Facilities:
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certificate within 12 months of hire and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily ER nursing operations in the emergency department, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient workflow
  • Supervise and support ER nursing staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
  • Coordinate patient care activities between nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members to optimize treatment and patient flow
  • Monitor compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards specific to emergency care
  • Manage critical incidents and assists in handling complex or high-acuity patient situations
  • Communicate with patients, families, and staff to address concerns and provide updates on care processes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness planning for the department
