STUDENT-ICTV Director of Special Productions and Live Events
About The Position
The ICTV Director of Special Productions and Live Events is a new student role at Ithaca College, responsible for overseeing live event programming such as Bombers Live Football, Basketball, and eSports, as well as special programming like the ICTV Election Center and ICTV Holiday Special. Key responsibilities include defining the scope of this new position, assisting producers in training cast and crew members each semester, managing the allocation of ICTV Checkout Center equipment for these productions, and serving as the Executive Producer for all live event and special programming. The director is also tasked with ensuring cohesive and professional broadcasts and coordinating with the Director of Programming and Director of Technical Operations for scheduling and technical availability. Regular weekly meetings with the ICTV Executive Staff are also required. This position is part of Ithaca College’s student employment program, which aims to provide meaningful experiential learning opportunities that develop transferable skills and allow students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world professional settings, fostering personal and professional growth. Requirements
- at least one semester of experience volunteering within ICTV
- include a cover letter explaining what you would bring to the position and what ideas you have for ICTV moving forward
- attaching both a resume and cover letter
- successful completion of the I-9 and employment eligibility requirements
- successful completion of the criminal background check
Responsibilities
- Helping define this new role that oversees live event (Bombers Live Football, Basketball, eSports) and special programming (ICTV Election Center, ICTV Holiday Special)
- Helping producers in their department train their cast/crew members at the beginning of each semester.
- Managing the allocation of all ICTV Checkout Center equipment for live event/special programming shows.
- Serving as the Executive Producer of all live event/special programming.
- Ensuring cohesive and professional broadcasts for all live event/special programming on ICTV.
- Coordinating with the Director of Programming and Director of Technical Operations to ensure scheduling and tech availability for live event/special programming projects.
- Meeting weekly with the rest of the ICTV Executive Staff.
