About The Position

The In-Can Tint Technician is responsible for producing precise and consistent color formulas for a variety of paint and coating products. This role works closely with Production and Quality Control teams to ensure all tinted products meet established specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tinting or color matching within the paint or coatings industry preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify subtle color variations
• Experience with automated tinting systems and manual tinting techniques preferred
• Strong mathematical skills for calculating and adjusting color formulas
• Working knowledge of quality control processes and testing methods
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong communication skills for effective cross-department collaboration
• Flexibility to adapt to production demands and changing priorities

Nice To Haves

• additional education or training in chemistry, materials science, or a related field is a plus

Responsibilities

• Accurately produce and adjust color formulas using automated tinting equipment and manual tinting methods
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot tinting equipment to ensure reliable and accurate color matching
• Perform quality control checks on finished products to verify color accuracy and consistency
• Document and maintain detailed records of color formulas, batch tickets, and production data
• Collaborate with Production and Quality Control teams to resolve color-related issues and ensure product compliance
• Monitor raw material inventory and communicate material needs as required
• Follow batch tickets to complete repacks, relabels, tint-to requests, and related production tasks
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
