About The Position

Syska Hennessy Group, a global leader in consulting, engineering, and commissioning services, is seeking a Senior Technology Systems Consultant for their Information and Communication Technology Group (ICT) in Los Angeles, CA. This role focuses on systems design with expertise in Telecom/IT/Audio Visual/Security, supporting the engineering of systems for diverse projects nationwide. The position involves close collaboration with clients, architects, and MEP engineers, designing systems for various spaces including Critical Facilities, Corporate Interiors, Sports & Entertainment, Healthcare Facilities, Airports, and educational facilities. Experience in ICT for Aviation is particularly sought after. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Science or Technical discipline or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 7-10 years of audiovisual, telecom, IT, or security design experience in a variety of markets including critical facilities (data centers, call centers, trading floors, etc.), healthcare, aviation, sports and entertainment, corporate interiors, and educational facilities
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of active network systems and structured cabling design
  • General working knowledge of Wi-Fi network and telephony design concepts, generating heat maps, etc.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit preferred
  • Certification such as P.E., ICT certification (PSP, CPP, CTS, CTS-D, RCDD, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, PMP, etc.) required

Nice To Haves

  • Has a basic understanding of network connectivity, LAN, WAN fundamentals
  • Has a basic understanding of WiFi infrastructure, WAPs, controllers

Responsibilities

  • Support design efforts on a wide range of projects, performing calculations and laying out highly technical spaces.
  • Progress from basic design work to more complicated projects with a technical team.
  • Provide trade-specific system design layout (CAD/BIM), calculations, and other design services, coordinating with other trades under senior guidance.
  • Create basic designs with minimal supervision and medium to complex designs under direction.
  • Develop specifications, system narratives, and system layouts for various projects.
  • Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work.
  • Assist in the preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and other technical reports and drawings.
  • Establish system application, design, and operational parameters sequences.
  • Ensure QA/QC processes for own work and others' work.
  • Assist in determining project scheduling, manpower, and budget requirements.
  • Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks, including detailed inspection reports.
  • Assist in processing RFIs, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda.
  • Master drawing organization format and company standards.
  • Cross-train on multidisciplinary designs and support design production.
  • Represent Syska Hennessy Group and interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and the entire design team.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
