About The Position

A role in a Distribution Center is critical for getting products to guests safely, accurately, and quickly, serving as an essential Logistics function. Team members partner across the enterprise to find solutions, impacting thousands of fellow team members and Target guests worldwide through regional or upstream distribution centers, import warehouses, or fulfillment and flow centers. This involves work in Distribution Center Operations, Quality Management, and overall Distribution Center Productivity. As an Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA) Team Member, you will support operational teams and your ICQA Leader in defect resolution, specifically focusing on inventory within stored locations. Your responsibilities include auditing and resolving defects within an assigned Service Level Agreement (SLA), researching and documenting root causes to improve inventory accuracy. You will work safely, promoting a safe workplace, and respond to defects in warehouse locations, often utilizing powered equipment. Weekly audits will be performed, with findings and resolution steps communicated to your ICQA Leader and other operational leaders. You will apply lean approaches, six sigma tools, and 5S techniques to maintain cleanliness and document defects for root cause analysis. Using problem-solving skills, you will correct inventory record inaccuracies, conduct follow-up audits, and address issues that impede operational teams from picking products, preventing downstream order cancellations. The role requires managing multiple priorities and processes, providing exceptional service, anticipating leaders' needs, and proactively solving problems while upholding Target's values and demonstrating professionalism and leadership.

Requirements

  • 2 years prior work experience as a warehouse worker, operations technician, quality control technician, or similar warehouse operator
  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing 35-45 lbs. frequently throughout a shift and up to 60lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to read, utilize matching skills and comprehend department/product documentation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to operate computer systems with minimal direction after receiving training
  • Ability to research defects/issues and root cause the drivers of those defects
  • Ability to navigate web-based ICQA reporting and forms (such as Smartsheet) with minimal direction after training
  • Ability to perform basic data entry and analysis in excel or other web based forms
  • Ability to be trained on powered equipment as needed

Responsibilities

  • Support operational teams and ICQA Leader in defect resolution, specifically focused on inventory within stored locations in the building
  • Audit and resolve defects, within an assigned Service Level Agreement (SLA)
