The ICBM Physical Security Systems Engineer opportunity allows you to combine technical skills with big-picture thinking to impact Nuclear Weapon System Safety. The role involves analyzing and evaluating Air Force nuclear weapon system designs to support nuclear safety and certification. You will leverage expertise in designing robust physical security systems to protect high-value facilities and assets, applying scientific and engineering principles to assess weapon system security and inform nuclear design certification. As part of an interdisciplinary group of government client and contractor staff, you will evaluate the comprehensive nuclear safety of the client's mission. Responsibilities include developing contract deliverables such as Technical Nuclear Safety Analyses (TNSA), Independent Nuclear Safety Evaluations (INSE), and technical research papers. You will analyze design data, develop written deliverables, and assist with presenting results and reviews of weapon system safety artifacts to verify compliance with applicable government requirements. Tasks will be conducted following established plans and quality standards, with opportunities to improve processes and advance the discipline of nuclear weapon safety.
