About The Position

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Governance Specialist 3 serves as a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, overseeing, and continuously improving enterprise‑wide IAM processes to ensure secure, compliant, and auditable access. This role provides advanced oversight of identity lifecycle, access controls, and certification activities, advises leadership on IAM risk and process effectiveness, and ensures IAM capabilities align with organizational objectives, security policies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; or Associate’s degree and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required
  • 5 years of technology operations support, system administration, IAM support, or related experience.
  • At least one vendor-agnostic security industry certification related to access management is required. To include: CISSP (Certified Information systems Security Professional), CIMP (Certified Identity Management Professional), CIPA (Certified Identity Protection Advisor) or other equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and maintains enterprise‑wide IAM processes to support secure and compliant access management.
  • Provides senior‑level oversight of identity lifecycle, access control, and high‑risk IAM activities.
  • Ensures IAM processes scale effectively across identity sources, populations, and enterprise roles.
  • Evaluates IAM controls for effectiveness, maturity, and alignment with security and compliance requirements.
  • Advises leadership on identity source integration strategies and authoritative systems of record.
  • Establishes and maintains standards for identity attributes, relationships, and authorization alignment.
  • Ensures IAM processes support accurate and automated Joiner‑Mover‑Leaver (JML) lifecycle execution.
  • Identifies and assesses risks related to identity management, access control, and lifecycle processes.
  • Develops and delivers metrics, reporting, and analysis on IAM process effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Provides oversight and subject matter expertise for identity, role, and administrator certification activities.
  • Analyzes certification results, trends, and exceptions to inform process and risk improvements.
  • Serves as a senior IAM advisor for internal and external audit and compliance activities.
  • Leads requirements definition and process design for IAM enhancements and automation initiatives.
  • Collaborates with IAM engineering, system owners, and security partners to align technical solutions with IAM requirements.
  • Mentors and guides lower‑level IAM staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
