About The Position

As an IAM Engineer at Tempus, you will help ensure the company provides secure and private precision medicine methodologies for clients and their patients. Tempus processes biological samples in its in-house lab, turns them into genomic data, and moves that data through cloud infrastructure and workflows that generate insights for clients. The information security team protects these environments and workflows through monitoring, testing, risk management, and the design and deployment of security products, controls, and processes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in IT security and at least 2 years of experience in IAM engineering.
• Extensive experience with Okta and Okta Workflows.
• Practical experience with authentication and authorization protocols.
• Strong understanding of IAM principles, frameworks, and technologies, including SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, LDAP, SOAP, REST, and SCIM.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and GitHub.
• Knowledge of information security risk management frameworks and compliance practices, including ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2, and NIST 800-30.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex technical security concepts clearly and concisely.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly focused on authentication and authorization issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive IAM solutions across multiple domains, including Okta and Okta Workflows.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate IAM-related security risks, proactively addressing potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Apply authentication and authorization best practices in a data-rich environment.
• Collaborate with IT and other business units to promote IAM awareness and integrate IAM best practices into operational processes.
• Oversee and drive IAM initiatives.
