About The Position

As an IAM Engineer at Tempus, you will help ensure the company provides secure and private precision medicine methodologies for clients and their patients. Tempus processes biological samples in its in-house lab, turns them into genomic data, and uses cloud infrastructure and workflows to deliver insights through in-house SaaS products. The information security team responds to threats and addresses gaps across these environments while supporting the pace of business. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining identity and access management solutions, managing IAM-related risks, and working with IT and business units to incorporate IAM best practices into operational processes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in IT Security and at least 2 years of experience in IAM Engineering.
• Extensive experience with Okta and Okta Workflows.
• Practical experience with authentication and authorization protocols.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex technical security concepts clearly and concisely.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly focused on authentication and authorization issues.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and GitHub.
• Strong understanding of IAM principles, frameworks, and technologies, including SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, LDAP, SOAP, REST, and SCIM.
• Knowledge of information security risk management frameworks and compliance practices, including ISO 27001, SOC2 Type 2, and NIST 800-30.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive IAM solutions across domains, including Okta and Okta Workflows.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate IAM-related security risks, proactively addressing potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Apply best practices for authentication and authorization in a data-rich environment.
• Collaborate with IT and other business units to promote IAM awareness and integrate IAM best practices into operational processes.
• Oversee and drive IAM initiatives.
