About The Position

The IT Technical Support Specialist/Security Administrator will handle internal customer support for the Audubon Institute's Information Technology Department. Responsibilities include assisting with the IT network, personal computers, servers, and related tasks. This role also oversees and ensures the security of the organization's computing systems and programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing PC's and networks.
  • 2 years’ experience in computer security.
  • Virus scanning administration
  • Email security and data protection administration

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • A+ or similar preferred.
  • Common network operating systems
  • Common network hardware (including cabling, hubs, switches, and routers)
  • Troubleshooting printers in a network and local environment.
  • Operation, installation and troubleshooting of common hardware

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality support to staff to meet their IT needs effectively.
  • Respond promptly to support requests and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Diagnose and resolve PC issues, connectivity problems, and system errors for the Audubon Nature Institute.
  • Install, repair, and optimize printers, hardware components, and related devices.
  • Administer FortiEDR, FortiMail, virus scanning programs, phishing/email security, and ensure PCI compliance.
  • Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as needed.
  • Create quotes and orders for IT equipment and software.
  • Develop and execute plans for assigned IT projects.
  • Participate in training sessions and adhere to safety, privacy, and confidentiality regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).
  • Maintain effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
