About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking an I&T Manager – Level 2 to join their team in Dulles, VA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This is both a functional management position with direct reports and a Project Leadership position. The Manufacturing Integration & Test Managers are the interface between the Business Units and Manufacturing. This position is responsible for schedule management and cost accountability of manufacturing activities in Integration & Test for their respective Business Units. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience including people management experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience including people management experience.
  • Requires an active U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • 5+ years of experience leading people and/or projects
  • 2+ years of direct people leadership experience
  • 8+ years of experience working in Manufacturing, Engineering, Test, Production, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, Project Engineering, IPT, Integration & Test, or similar roles (6 years with a Master's degree)
  • Working knowledge of Cost Point and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical engineering
  • Current security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Demonstrated expertise in the following systems and concepts: MRP and IMS Scheduling, Cost Point production planning and material management tools, Windchill, TipQA, Cognos, Earned Value Management, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and Manufacturing
  • Experience leading I&T proposal efforts that include labor quoting, schedule and capacity analysis, investment planning, and descriptive writing contributions
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Program execution experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage the production execution for Business Unit programs
  • Manage I&T cost and schedule performance
  • Serve as I&T lead for all proposals in the Business Unit
  • Create and lead teams to resolve the issues adversely impacting the I&T execution of the programs
  • Understand and report on Manufacturing Operations status at the required level of detail to the Program Manager, Sector Executive Management and customers
  • Ensure I&T has the needed resources (resources needs as well as allocation of resources from I&T) to execute the programs
  • Serve as Functional Manager and direct the work of the reporting Operations Project Managers
  • Perform manpower planning and execute hiring to support the Business Division
  • Mentor, develop, and assess direct reports
  • Provide strategic leadership to ensure all Program and Integration & Test objectives are achieved
  • Provide I&T expertise to support the strategic vision of the Business Division
