About The Position

The I/E QC Inspector tests, calibrates, troubleshoots, overhauls, and repairs controlling, indicating, and measuring instruments to ensure specified operating performance. The role uses hand tools, testing and calibration equipment, and precision measuring instruments, and requires the ability to read manuals, blueprints, schematics, loop drawings, and testing specifications. The inspector also needs knowledge of electrical schematics and PLCs. The position conducts inspections of materials, equipment, and construction and installation activities on site; verifies work against the approved Inspection Test Plan and Quality Control Plan; witnesses tests and inspections; manages related documentation and quality records; and reports non-conformances to the QC Supervisor. Duties include checking cable installation and identification, performing loop checks and functional tests, updating as-built drawings, completing punch lists, inspecting electrical and instrument installations, testing electrical and fiber-optic systems, and calibrating instruments and safety valves. The inspector applies mathematics, electrical, chemical, physical, and instrumentation principles to work involving process controls, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, process equipment, measurement systems, and instrumentation loops. The role also requires maintaining a current electrician's license or identification card as needed to meet state regulations.
