About The Position

The Therapist is responsible for providing center-based in-person therapy services to adult individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). These therapy services may include: individual, group, or family therapy; mental health assessment; treatment planning and monitoring; resource and referral; support, linkage, and advocacy; case collaboration with other providers at Pioneer Center or other community organizations. As a part of the Outpatient Services department of the Behavioral Health pillar, the Therapist will adhere to the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Pioneer Center and philosophy of the Behavioral Health pillar. This philosophy emphasizes Trauma-Informed Care, Evidence-Based Practices, Strength-Focused Treatment, and Client-Centered Services. To achieve these standards, the Therapist and all members of the Behavioral Health pillar must attend ongoing internal and external trainings and contribute to a culture of collaborative learning.

Requirements

Master’s Degree Required. (Field of Study: Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology).
Demonstrated experience providing therapeutic services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) across the lifespan.
Skilled in adapting therapeutic techniques and communication strategies to meet varying cognitive, developmental, and functional abilities.
EHR Systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Telehealth
Must hold and maintain an active, unrestricted professional license in the State of Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) required
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must be able to meet agency driver safety requirement of carrying personal vehicle insurance with the following limits: $25,000 bodily injury, each person $50,000 bodily injury, each accident $25,000 property damage

Responsibilities

Provides center-based in-person services to adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Meet production standards 70% of time providing direct service to clients. (typically 28 of 40 hours per week)
Complete all documentation accurately and concurrently, which is defined by within 24 hours of service delivery
Facilitate and provide for the needs of clients in a client-centered, trauma-informed, family focused, outpatient program.
Uses strength-focused treatment planning to collaboratively create goals and objectives with clients
May need to complete IM+CANS (Illinois Medicaid Comprehensive Assessment of Needs and Strengths) with all clients minimally every 180 days
Monitors and documents progress toward goals
Makes referrals and advocates for families in need of diagnostic, substance abuse, psychiatric, and psychological assessments
Develop linkage in the community by working with community services to meet the needs of the client.
Collaboration with court services, client families, schools, and other community organizations in a professional manner.
Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and attend client meetings, as needed
Completes required agency training.
Provides service according to policy and procedure (HIPAA, Confidentiality, Ethics, etc.).
Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
