About The Position

The Hyperbaric Safety Coordinator, under the direction of the department supervisor/administrator, is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related equipment. This role provides oversight for hyperbaric operations concerning patient safety and chamber operations. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for providing hyperbaric training to nursing and technical personnel on safe chamber operations, maintenance procedures, and safety processes.

Requirements

  • Completion of an NBDHMT recognized introductory hyperbaric medicine course or equivalent military training.
  • Two or more years of experience in the operation and maintenance of monoplace hyperbaric chambers.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team building skills.
  • Knowledge of basic improvement concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge of standards and codes related to hyperbaric facilities and U.S. Navy Diving Manuals.
  • License approved by NBDHMT to qualify for CHT Certification (EMT, LPN, LVN, RT, RN).
  • Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) certification required at time of hire.
