Hyper-V Virtualization & Infrastructure Engineer
About The Position
We are hiring a Seasoned Infrastructure Engineer to support and evolve a large-scale, enterprise virtualization platform in a highly regulated environment. This is a hands-on engineering role, not a support or ticket-driven position. The team owns the full lifecycle of the Windows and Hyper-V compute platform — from design and automation through upgrades, performance tuning, and stability in production. Daily onsite presence is required due to close collaboration with data-center, hardware, and platform engineering teams. This position requires working onsite five days per week. Candidates should be local or within a reasonable commuting distance and comfortable with a full in-office environment long-term.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or virtualization engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Hyper-V in enterprise environments
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server and Failover Clustering
- Proficiency with PowerShell for automation and administration
- Experience supporting production, mission-critical systems
- Comfort working in regulated or large enterprise environments
- Ability and willingness to work onsite 5 days per week
Nice To Haves
- Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) experience
- Prior VMware experience with interest or exposure to Hyper-V
- Infrastructure automation frameworks or configuration management
- Performance benchmarking and capacity analysis experience
- Financial services or similarly regulated industry experience
Responsibilities
- Engineer and support enterprise-scale Hyper-V virtualization platforms
- Design, build, and maintain Windows Failover Clusters (WSFC)
- Automate infrastructure tasks using PowerShell
- Manage the full Windows Server lifecycle (builds, upgrades, patching)
- Partner with hardware and data-center teams on capacity planning and performance optimization
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across compute, storage, and networking layers
- Participate in platform improvements, rolling upgrades, and modernization efforts
- Contribute to documentation, standards, and operational excellence
