About The Position

The Virtualization Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise virtualization environments, with a focus on ensuring high availability, performance, scalability, and security across virtualized infrastructure. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert for VMware technologies, driving lifecycle management, automation, system stability, and cross-functional infrastructure integration while providing technical leadership and operational support.

Requirements

Extensive hands-on experience administering VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter within large-scale enterprise environments.
Strong expertise with one or more advanced VMware technologies, including vSAN, NSX-T, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), or VMware Aria Suite.
Proficiency with PowerShell and PowerCLI automation for scripting, orchestration, and systems administration.
Strong understanding of enterprise compute, storage, and network architectures in complex infrastructure environments.
Experience performing capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management for enterprise virtualization platforms.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize VMware vSphere clusters, ESXi hosts, and core virtualization infrastructure.
Administer and optimize vCenter Server operations, including templates, host profiles, distributed configurations, and environment standardization.
Implement, support, and troubleshoot VMware vSAN environments, including storage policy configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and issue resolution.
Architect, configure, and maintain VMware NSX-T networking and security components, including micro-segmentation strategies.
Manage and support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments and integrated platform components to align with enterprise architecture standards.
Perform lifecycle management activities using VMware Lifecycle Manager (vLCM), including upgrades, patching, compliance tracking, and environment maintenance.
Develop automation and orchestration solutions using VMware Aria (vRealize) Automation, Orchestrator, PowerCLI, and scripting tools to streamline infrastructure operations.
Monitor system performance, conduct root-cause analysis, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal environment stability and uptime.
Maintain security compliance across virtualized environments through access management, system hardening, auditing, and adherence to operational standards.
Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, storage, and application teams to design and deliver integrated technical solutions.
Create and maintain technical architecture documentation, standard operating procedures, disaster recovery documentation, and operational runbooks.
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and participate in on-call support and incident response activities.
