About The Position

Titan Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Hydronic Piping Foreman to lead and coordinate field installation of hydronic piping systems on commercial mechanical construction projects. The Foreman will oversee daily field activities, direct journeymen, apprentices, and other assigned personnel, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong commercial mechanical piping experience, understands hydronic systems, can read and interpret mechanical drawings, and is comfortable leading a field crew while working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Contractors, and other trades.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial mechanical piping experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Foreman or Lead Mechanic strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience with commercial hydronic piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of pipe fittings, valves, supports, hangers, and piping systems.
  • Ability to take measurements and perform basic calculations.
  • Ability to lead a crew and effectively delegate work.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve field conflicts.
  • Ability to work independently while following project direction.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be able to work safely in an active construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise hydronic piping crews on commercial construction projects.
  • Plan and coordinate daily manpower, materials, equipment, and work activities.
  • Install and oversee installation of hydronic piping systems, including: Chilled water piping, Hot water piping, Heating water systems, Condenser water piping, Pump and equipment connections, Valves, fittings, strainers, and related components.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and project plans.
  • Understand piping layouts, elevations, dimensions, and equipment connections.
  • Coordinate piping installation with HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, structural, and other trades.
  • Verify materials and equipment are available and properly staged before beginning work.
  • Ensure installations are completed according to approved drawings and project specifications.
  • Identify potential conflicts, layout issues, and field conditions and communicate them to the Project Manager or Superintendent.
  • Perform and oversee pipe layout, fabrication, installation, and support.
  • Ensure proper pipe slope, alignment, supports, hangers, insulation clearances, and equipment connections.
  • Assist with pressure testing, flushing, system startup, and commissioning activities.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and workmanship standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and communicate job progress and manpower needs.
  • Train, direct, and mentor apprentices and less-experienced employees.
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements on the jobsite.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Coordinate inspections with the appropriate project personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with General Contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and Titan management.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
