Requirements

  • 5 years experience supporting hydrogeological programs in mining, oil sands, or other industrial operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, or a related discipline
  • Professional Engineer/ Geologist designation (P.Eng / P.Geo.)
  • Expertise supporting hydrogeological programs in mining, oil sands, or other industrial operations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with geophysical interpretation is considered an asset
  • Transferrable skills are acknowledged

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute hydrogeological studies and technical assignments within defined project scope and business objectives
  • Assess groundwater management system performance, data quality, technical analyses, and contractor deliverables to support quality, consistency, and continuous improvement
  • Compile, interpret, and analyze hydrogeological data to identify key issues and develop clear, risk-based recommendations
  • Prepare technical reports, performance summaries, and regulatory documentation for internal use and submission to regulatory agencies
  • Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders, operations leadership, and cross-functional project teams
  • Represent the Water Resources team on integrated project teams, providing expertise on groundwater management, water quantity, water quality, and aquatic environmental issues
  • Support annual business planning, scope development, prioritization of hydrogeological programs, and responsible budget management
