About The Position

Integral Consulting Inc. is seeking a mid- to senior-level scientist for their Investigation and Remediation business area. This role will support multiple clients and projects focused on site characterization and remedial investigation activities under federal and state-led regulatory programs. The day-to-day work will involve project and task management, data analysis, literature review, field work, and writing. Career growth opportunities include managing tasks and projects, client communication, and presenting/publishing work. Most assignments will require teamwork, with some being independent responsibilities. This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, or related technical field.
  • Experience with leading and completing field investigations and contractor oversight.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience using and applying a variety of analysis and/or modeling tools (e.g. GIS, Leapfrog, EVS, or other similar software tools).
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully within multidisciplinary and diverse teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Working safely and actively participating in our safe work culture.
  • Designing/supporting site and remedial investigation activities under federal and state lead regulatory programs (initially with an Oregon focus) through proposal and work plan preparation.
  • Leading field investigation efforts by providing in-office or in-field support as appropriate based on project and program complexity.
  • Developing and refining conceptual site models and contaminant fate and transport by analyzing, evaluating, and combining geologic, hydrogeologic, chemical, and other data and information.
  • Supporting the development and refinement of remedial alternatives and remedial design by providing analysis and interpretation of existing and hypothetical future geologic/hydrogeologic conditions as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conducting project and task management.
  • Managing subcontractors and performing basic contract management (preparing work orders).
  • Communicating technical information to varied audiences (e.g., clients, staff).
  • Providing a high quality and consistent work product including technical reports/documents for submittal to internal and external clients/regulators.
  • Leading and mentoring staff.
