Hydro Procurement Specialist

About The Position

This role is responsible for placing new Purchase Orders, ensuring compliance with guidelines and US Government requirements. The specialist will lead Kick-Off meetings, manage supplier relationships, and track Purchase Orders to ensure timely delivery. This involves understanding fabrication processes, anticipating delays, and supporting suppliers in using company tools. The position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills within a complex, high-stress environment.

Requirements

Technical, supply chain or administration degree (college or university)
3+ years of experience in a fabrication/manufacturing/sourcing environment
Bilingual English & French
Demonstrated understanding of all phases of procurement and procurement execution.
Demonstrated ability to place and manage a high volume of purchase orders
Basic experience in the Sourcing & Buying-Procurement.
Strong oral and written communication skills in both French and English.
Good computer skills, multitasking and data accuracy
Navigate a complex, matrix organization, internally and externally.
Time and priorities management in a high volume, high stress environment.

Nice To Haves

Technical understanding of Mechanical components/ Hydraulic systems/ Electric panel.

Responsibilities

Place new Purchase Orders, ensuring compliance to guidelines and US Government requirements, if applicable.
Lead Kick-Off meetings and related action plans.
Ensure supplier understands all technical requirements of the order.
Follow-up on Purchase Orders, gather regular status and updates from suppliers, maintain communication tools to project teams.
Escalate blocking points (Supplier Deviations, etc.) with project and engineering.
Update Purchase Orders with technical document updates or Change Orders.
Anticipate possible delays in delivery by understanding fabrication process, complexity, possible roadblocks.
Support supplier in the use of our various tools: access, use, etc.
Maintain supplier relationship even in challenging situations.
