About The Position

The Hydro Blast Technician will perform a wide range of physical activities that require strength and flexibility of whole body for handling, positioning, moving and manipulating equipment and materials, emergency response, vacuum truck operations, waste disposal, site remediation and high-pressure water blasting. This is a full-time position with opportunity for overtime.

Requirements

  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time.
  • Must have valid TWIC card or be able to obtain one.
  • Valid driver’s license or identification card.
  • Respond to emergency calls 24 hours, 7 days a week if called upon.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time within a confined space, in extreme temperature environments and at high elevation.
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with training and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific procedures and directions.
  • Ability to lift, move and handle up to 50lb hoses.
  • Successfully complete drug screen, pre-employment physical and all required background checks.
  • Must be capable of regularly speaking and hearing while utilizing hands to control or manipulate objects.
  • Must be capable of seeing close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be willing and capable of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling or reaching above the shoulders.
  • Must be willing and physically capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be willing and capable of standing and/or walking continuously for long period of time.
  • Must be able to make general decisions requiring judgement and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and rotational schedules.
  • Must be comfortable working around pressurized systems and hydrocarbons.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Hydro blasting or pressure cleaning experience preferred but not required.
  • General labor experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set-up all necessary cleaning equipment such as high-pressure pumps, in service line hydro-blasting, and vacuum), in accordance with operational and training and guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective gear.
  • Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and heaving industrial settings.
  • Manually clean, install, fit repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets and all other external and internal equipment on tanks.
  • Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps and general work area prior to starting any job. Informs supervisor of deficiencies, which may cause accidents, injuries or lost productivity.
