About The Position

The Test technician will be responsible for testing and evaluating incoming assemblies (Spool and Sleeve Assemblies), determining the extent of necessary repairs and ability to repair and complete final testing of lap assemblies. The technician will need to be familiar with flow grinding parts, using grinding tools for modifying laps and final testing.

Requirements

Familiarity with flow grinding parts.
Experience using grinding tools for modifying laps.
Ability to follow instructions.
Good practices for working with O-rings and specialty seals.
Good communication skills.
High degree of attention to detail.
Good troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
High School Diploma or GED.
Post High School Education.
1-3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Measure flows, leakage and force.
Measure and plot or record results.
Lap fit and adjust clearance.
Hone to specifications.
Measure clearances using micrometers, micro caters, calipers and any other measuring device needed.
Follow instructions.
Assemble some parts.
Work with O-rings and specialty seals.
Communicate effectively with other managers, engineering and supervisors, as well as, all employees.
