The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, repair, rebuild hydraulic cylinder parts, and restore equipment to proper operation at an advanced level. This role involves reviewing work schedules, preparing for duties by checking equipment and supplies, and complying with PPE requirements. The specialist will use various aids like pallet jacks, lift trucks, and overhead cranes to move parts for repair. Responsibilities include installing, replacing, rebuilding, repairing, and testing parts and equipment, as well as pressure washing and repainting them. The role requires using computers for referencing parts, obtaining information, and data entry. Disassembly and reassembly of parts or equipment using tools, cleaning parts, performing diagnostic checks with test equipment, and operating powered equipment are key tasks. The specialist will also use overhead hoists and lift devices to move items for repair and reassembly. Additionally, they will use powered equipment for grinding, honing, boring, drilling, and polishing, and may fabricate replacement parts or refurbish existing ones before reassembly, testing, and painting.
