The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, repair, rebuild hydraulic cylinder parts, and restore equipment to proper operation. This role involves making necessary preparations for work/repairs, complying with PPE requirements, and using various equipment to move and position parts for repair. The specialist will install, replace, rebuild, repair, and test parts/equipment, as well as pressure wash and repaint components. They will utilize computers to reference parts, gather information, and enter data into record systems. The job also includes disassembling and reassembling parts using tools, cleaning parts, using test equipment for diagnostic checks, and controlling powered equipment for repairs. Additionally, the role involves using overhead hoists, lift devices, and forklifts to move items for disassembly, repair, and reassembly. Grinding, honing, boring, drilling, and polishing may be required, along with making or refurbishing replacement parts before reassembly, testing units, and painting finished units.
