About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Hydraulic Manufacturing Team Lead - 2nd Shift. The core hours are 1:45pm to 10:15pm. The hourly rate for this position is 42.44 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This position will be responsible for assigning work, following schedule, work completed on schedule, resolving discrepancies, training employees, troubleshooting with technicians. This individual will serve as the link between production floor, Quality and Engineering functions. Working lead will also assemble and test mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of simple to most complex product line that includes but is not limited to commercial parts for customer such as Boeing, Embraer, Gulfstream, Cessna, and Airbus. Work on electrical assemblies and solder and work on unusual work where standard or recognizable methods and processes may not be available. Assist operators as required. Work as a liaison between Assembly, Inspection, Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, etc. Apply technical skills for performance and production problem resolution of hydraulic, pneumatic and electro-mechanical products and related components with relatively little guidance. Assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot and test mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies. Ensure activities are performed correctly and proper tooling and documentation is used. Requires little to no supervision. Utilize technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to product non-conformance and performance test failures for hydraulic and electro-mechanical products. Assist in setting job priorities and determining workload requirements. Responsible for training of new operators, assemblers, technicians, etc. Assist in evaluating departmental personnel and help to identify training needs. Responsible for leading team meetings. Responsible for setting a good example of employee conduct at all times. Responsible for managing the overall workflow of department. Responsible for transacting completed work orders throughout inventory locations. Assume the role of supervisor in his/her absence such as running daily production reports and escalate issues. Responsible for checking the following and escalating issues with calibration, assembly and test equipment, if required. Drive and initiate process improvements within hardware and test equipment which includes detection and isolation of performance discrepancies at each phase of assembly. May require working with Manufacturing and Quality Engineers. Department representative in Customer audits/visits. Maintain clean and safe work area. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Ten (10) year’s minimum experience in aerospace assembly and testing of hydraulic and electromechanical control valves
  • Knowledge of hydraulic test equipment
  • One (1) year experience assisting and/or leading teams or initiatives
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or national; U.S. lawful, permanent resident; refugee; or asylee)
  • Proficient interpreting hydraulic and electrical blueprints, testing schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions
  • Working knowledge of shop, mechanical and electrical test equipment and testing procedures
  • Ability to test a variety of assemblies/sub-assemblies
  • Know-how and ability to work with inspection gages, multimeters, force scales, torque wrenches, and production test equipment
  • Ability to work from written and verbal instructions
  • Working knowledge of Eaton production units or similar electromechanical products
  • Ability to retain knowledge of units produced
  • Ability to cross train on a variety of hardware/sub-assemblies
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with other departments and organizations
  • Ability to accumulate and record data to support process improvement idea(s)
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 25 lbs
