About The Position

The Hydraulic Cylinder Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic cylinders with precision and efficiency. This role requires hands-on expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with hydraulic test bench software and tools.
  • Experience using ERP systems for parts and work order management.
  • Competency with digital calipers, micrometers, and torque tools.
  • Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble hydraulic cylinders to identify wear, damage, and faults.
  • Perform repairs such as detailed seal replacement, honing, reconditioning or surface reconditioning.
  • Conduct pressure testing to ensure repaired cylinders meet performance standards.
  • Diagnose hydraulic system issues and recommend solutions.
  • Assemble hydraulic cylinders per technical specifications.
  • Replace or repair components such as rods, pistons, and bearings.
  • Clean, inspect, and recondition hydraulic components.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and schematics.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic equipment.
  • Maintain detailed repair logs and documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices.
  • Inspect and test hydraulic components to identify root causes of failure.
  • Ensure accurate use of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

  • Handling heavy components and operating lifting equipment.
  • Creating detailed reports of repair processes and outcomes.

  • Preparing components for repair by cleaning and machining.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Reassembling cylinders with new seals, rods, and other parts.
  • Operating hydraulic test stands and analyzers.
  • Conducting functional and pressure tests to verify repairs.
  • Documenting repair processes and test results.
