Experienced Hydraulic Component Rebuild Technician/Mechanic
About The Position
The Hydraulic Component Rebuild Technician/Mechanic is responsible for completing the disassembly and assembly of Caterpillar hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, hydraulic hammers, compactors, valves and other hydraulic attachments according to manufacturer specifications in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team." This role also involves determining the most cost-effective repair using Caterpillar reusability guidelines, inspecting parts for reuse and salvage, and developing complete and accurate repair quotes. Additionally, there are opportunities to learn and rebuild other Caterpillar components such as engines, fuel systems, transmissions, and powertrain components. The position also includes supervisory responsibilities, providing direction, training, mentoring, and guidance to assigned service technicians.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years in heavy equipment rebuild and repair of Hydraulic Components.
- Basic ability to search for and enter data into a computer
- Ability to type service reports
Nice To Haves
- Post-secondary education degree or certificate in diesel or automotive preferred
Responsibilities
- Uses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirements in preparing, inspecting, and rebuilding of components.
- Completes disassembly and assembly of Caterpillar hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, hydraulic hammers, compactors, valves and other hydraulic attachments according to manufacturer specifications.
- Determines most cost-effective repair using Caterpillar reusability guidelines.
- Inspection of parts for reuse and salvage, ability to develop complete and accurate repair quotes
- Maintains clean organized work area to meet dealership contamination control requirements
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Provides direction, training, mentoring and guidance to assigned service technicians
