About The Position

Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) builds and maintains complex test environments (flight simulators for missiles), used to verify and validate the tactical software for our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work together with our customers. The Effectors Center in the SE&TC Directorate is seeking Engineering Support Services professionals focused on engineering lab support, complex test environment builds and maintenance, and integration. In this role you will be hands- on, supporting the successful completion of test events and the associated analysis of test data. Please note: This position requires you to work on site. No remote work available.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience technical experience.
  • Experience leading a small team of other technicians
  • Experience supporting engineering test
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing complex test system environments
  • Experience with the use of lab/field test equipment
  • Ability to obtain interim secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Experience collecting and evaluating telemetry data to diagnose and solve technical issues
  • Technician experience working on military platforms, such as Fixed Wing, Rotary Wing, Ground Based, and ship-based platforms
  • Experience in integration with test equipment, telemetry data analysis tools, and missile systems host platforms
  • Experience in integrating RF sensor output, either modulated waveforms or streams of digital samples used for real-time representation of RF scenes data collection / analysis (including Telemetry)
  • Experience in a test environment with emphasis in test execution and data collection

Responsibilities

  • Perform the duties of the lead technician for an engineering lab, which includes scheduling preventive maintenance for the technicians to accomplish, performing corrective maintenance of the engineering equipment, attending the failure review and corrective action boards, and working with lab management to schedule the work for the technicians.

  • Trace and/or correct faults in mechanical or electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with failure reporting, analysis, corrective action and/or fault tree analysis.
  • Support field testing and occasional travel for durations typically for a one-week duration at customer lab locations.
